The Finnish Institute in Japan

The Finnish Institute in Japan promotes co-operation between Finland and Japan in research, higher education and culture. It provides information and contacts for academics, researchers and cultural actors who need support for their projects in Japan.

The Institute also offers information on research, education and culture for media and journalists. The Institute gives information on courses and scholarships, and provides contacts for Finnish researchers and students who want to study in Japanese institutions and vice versa.

The Finnish Institute in Japan opened an office in Hokkaido

The Finnish Institute in Japan, located in Tokyo, opened a new office in Hokkaido. Official opening reception was held on March 3, 2011 in Sapporo.

The Hokkaido Office concentrates on developing researcher career, and enhancing the researcher and professor exchange between the two countries. See more.

The Finnish Government Scholarship Pool 2012-2013 (September 27, 2011)

 

Symposium on World Heritage and Twentieth Century Heritage in Tokyo 

International symposium, Twentieth Century Heritage and World Heritage Listing – Discussion on the Outstanding Universal Value in Serial Site Nominations, will be organized at the National Museum of Western Art, in Tokyo.

Finnish architect Riitta Salastie will give a case study on Alvar Aalto and will participate in the round table discussion.

The Finnish Government Scholarship Pool 2012-2013

The Finnish government will support Japanese students or researchers with Master degree in their doctoral studies with the Finnish government Scholarship Pool 2012-2013. The application should be sent to JASSO by 10th of February 2012. For information on the application, please visit JASSO’s website (in Japanese).
