The Academy of Finland is the main national funding organization of basic research. One of the many tasks of the Academy of Finland is to support researcher mobility.

The National Technology Agency (Tekes)

NISTEP is an independent institution working in science and technology policy formulation among other things. NISTEP has a co-operation agreement with Tekes and Academy of Finland.

New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization
NEDO both does research and funds research in energy and industrial technology development.

National Institute for Material Science
NIMS works for improving the level of material science and technology. NIMS focuses on research and development work and does basic research in material science and technology. NIMS also has strong programs promoting international co-operation.

National Institute for Research Advancement (NIRA)
NIRA is an independent think tank focusing on policy research. Nira has possibilities for research fellowship from abroad.
